Nation’s Cable Companies Showcase Powerful Business Connectivity Services to Healthcare CIOs at CHIME14 Fall CIO Forum
The nation’s cable companies, under the organizational umbrella of CTAM, today announced they are promoting the strength of cable’s powerful commercial IT services at this week’s CHIME14 Fall CIO Forum from October 28-31, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas.
“Cable’s scalable, high-bandwidth fiber networks provide hospitals and healthcare systems with reliable service and high-speed data transfer. From digital imaging and electronic medical records to emerging regulatory demands and telemedicine, cable provides the prescription necessary for healthcare excellence.”
As the premier event for healthcare CIOs, the CHIME Forum provides valuable education programming, tailored specifically to meet the needs of CIOs and other healthcare IT executives. Additionally, CTAM will host a CHIME Foundation focus group on October 29 that will bring together hospital and healthcare system CIOs for a peer-to-peer discussion on their current and future telecommunications needs, as well as cable’s connectivity offerings.
Responding to the evolving needs of healthcare providers, cable companies are aligning their networks and service capabilities to help this vertical deliver next-generation levels of care. HIMSS Analytics, commissioned late last year by CTAM, showed that many hospitals, clinics, and physicians’ offices lack the IT infrastructure necessary to support their goals for improved patient comfort and care.
The study found that the top strategic priorities for healthcare IT departments do not align with the level of support currently being used in-house, including the ability to digitize medical records and enable more information exchange and collaboration. This is where the cable industry is especially well-suited, with a proven ability to provide consistently reliable and secure connectivity in commercial healthcare environments.
“The nation’s cable companies continue to power the networks that keep healthcare connected,” said Alexandra Sewell, Executive Director, Emerging Markets of Comcast Business. “Cable’s scalable, high-bandwidth fiber networks provide hospitals and healthcare systems with reliable service and high-speed data transfer. From digital imaging and electronic medical records to emerging regulatory demands and telemedicine, cable provides the prescription necessary for healthcare excellence.”
The consideration of cable as a networking and IT solutions resource reflects the following key attributes:
- Cable is capable of ensuring complete health system connectivity at the highest reliability standards.
- Cable delivers the total patient experience.
- Cable companies have a strong commitment to supporting the same local communities served by their healthcare customers.
“To meet the bandwidth-intensive demands of healthcare organizations, the nation’s cable companies continue to provide innovative and reliable business communication solutions to meet their evolving needs,” said Don Detampel, EVP & President, Charter Commercial Services. “We’re excited to participate at the CHIME14 Fall CIO Forum, the premier event for healthcare CIOs.”
Among the cable companies participating at CHIME14 Fall CIO Forum are Charter Business and Time Warner Cable Business Class.
