The DOD’s new EHR system for the Pentagon won’t be fully deployed until 2017, according to Nextgov.
When estimated costs jumped to $28 billion back in February, the joint effort between the Defense and Veterans Affairs departments was dropped. The Defense EHR is expected to cost between $4 billion and $5 billion over five years, based on industry estimates. The new system eventually would cover 9.7 million service members, retirees and their families.
