West Virginia’s Charleston Area Medical Center warned its providers that those who fail to undergo ICD-10 training by July 27 would be cut off from the hospitals’ electronic health record system, according to the Charleston Gazette-Mail. As of July 22, only 25 of the more than 1,200 providers affiliated with the medical center had completed the training, even though ICD-10 goes into effect Oct. 1.
The medical center is in the process of transitioning from Siemens’ Health Services’ software to Cerner, which will be completed in July 2016
