Flatiron Health and Via Oncology today announced that the Via Pathways for medical oncology will be integrated directly within the Flatiron Health OncoEMR® electronic health record (EHR) for their joint customers. This is the first time that the Via Pathways will be available fully embedded within an EHR.
”We are excited to work with Flatiron Health to offer the Via Pathways within OncoEMR for our joint customers,” said Kathy Lokay, President and CEO, Via Oncology. “Flatiron Health’s cloud-based platform and engineering capabilities were key to our ability to embed the complex decision support logic and make timely updates.”
OncoEMR is a leading cloud-based EHR and part of the Flatiron Health OncologyCloudTM software suite for oncologists. Leveraged by more than 200 cancer centers in the country, OncoEMR will now enable providers that license the Via Pathways to seamlessly select evidence-based treatment regimens as they are completing their clinical workflow within OncoEMR.
“We are pleased to be able to offer the Via Pathways, fully integrated within OncoEMR, to help providers enhance the quality of care and improve efficiency,” said Robert J. Green, MD, Vice President, Clinical Strategy and Senior Medical Director, Flatiron Health. “This integration will enable providers to access pathways, make treatment decisions and choose treatment options without leaving the EHR, while also avoiding the need for duplicate data entry.”
The Via Pathways for medical, gynecologic and hematologic oncology treatments and companion diagnostics cover over 90 percent of cancer types and will be available through the physician’s ordering workflow within OncoEMR. Providers who use OncoEMR and license the Via Pathways will also be able to track pathways adherence reporting directly within OncoEMR.
The integration of the Via Pathways within OncoEMR will be widely available in Fall 2015. OncoEMR will now be the only cloud-based medical oncology EHR that empowers cancer care providers to choose their preferred integrated pathways and medical content directly within the EHR at the point of care. Via Oncology will also continue to offer Via Pathways through its proprietary Via Portal software platform for oncologists.
